ELIZABETH HART THERAPY (1)_edited.jpg

Sex and intimacy can be deeply personal parts of our lives, and when something doesn't feel right, it can be difficult to know who to talk to. Psychosexual therapy offers a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore the emotional, relational and psychological factors that may be affecting your sexual wellbeing.

I work with individuals and people in relationships experiencing a wide range of concerns, including difficulties with desire, arousal, orgasm, sexual confidence, pain, intimacy, communication and changes in sexual relationships. I also support people who are struggling with shame, anxiety or negative feelings around sex, as well as those whose relationship with sex and intimacy has been affected by negative sexual experiences or sexual trauma.

My approach is sex-positive, LGBTQ+ affirmative and trauma-informed. I recognise that there is no one “normal” way to experience sex, desire or intimacy. Together, we can explore your experiences without judgement and with curiosity, considering what may be influencing how you feel and what you would like to change.

My therapeutic roots are systemic and psychodynamic, meaning I am interested in how our relationships, past experiences, families and wider social and cultural influences can shape our relationship with sex and intimacy. As a psychosexual therapist, I combine this understanding with specialist knowledge of sexual wellbeing.

I have a Master's degree in Psychosexual Therapy and aim to work collaboratively, adapting therapy to your individual needs. Whether you are experiencing a specific sexual difficulty, feeling disconnected from your sexuality, or simply want to better understand yourself and your relationship with sex and intimacy, psychosexual therapy can offer a space to explore.

You don't need to have all the answers before coming to therapy. We can start wherever you are.
